Kidscontent creates kids digital and print media with a focus on technology.
Kidscontent founder and owner Claire Comins is an experienced editor and writer and is the co-founder and teacher at Codemaker Club, helping kids create with technology through fun projects.
Kidscontent also creates and publishes high-quality yearbooks for schools.
Claire Comins moved from London to San Francisco’s Bay Area in 2012. In the UK, she worked in the commercial arm of the BBC, BBC Worldwide, editing and writing educational magazines and books for children from ages 0-13. She was Editor of award-winning BBC Learning is Fun! magazine, a National Curriculum (Common Core-equivalent) title for 7-10s, helped launch BBCTV tie-in SMart magazine, a monthly arts and craft title, and continued working with BBC titles Bob the Builder, Tweenies, CBeebies and GirlTalk after going freelance. For Danish publisher Egmont, she launched Disney’s Toy Story magazine and oversaw the redesign of PowerRangers magazine.
In 2012, Claire published Lily, a magazine iPad app for pre-teen girls. The experience encouraged her to set up Codemaker Club, teaching kids to create through programming and making, and this in turn feeds back into her creative work. When not teaching at Codemaker Club or promoting Kidscontent Yearbooks to schools, she plays with robots and hikes with her small scruffy dog on the trails and beaches of the Bay Area.
